Creating Brush Corridors and Terrain

Posted Jul 26, 2017

ShellVex is a powerful brush generation tool that allows you to create brushes from the polgons of other geometry. There are two helper functions in Wall Worm to quickly generate a ShellVex system to fit a couple scenarios.

ShellVex: Create Corridor

This function will wrap the currently selected geometry with a ShellVex node such that the currently selected object(s) become the empty space of the ShellVex brushes. When run, it creates a ShellVex node, assigns the selection as the Source Nodes, and sets the Extrusion to Extrude Out.

You can run this function if you have Wall Worm installed by clicking Wall Worm > Wall Worm Level Design > ShellVex: Create Corridor.

ShellVex: Create Terrain

This function will generate a brush system extruded down into the surface of the selected geometry. Primarily, this is used to generate complex Brush terrain for Goldsource. For Source, you should use Displacements instead.

You can run this function if you have Wall Worm installed by clicking Wall Worm > Wall Worm Level Design > ShellVex: Create Terrain.
